YouTube

The Terms of Service have been updated with an effective date of December 15, 2023. A new "Limitation on Legal Action" clause has been added, requiring any legal claim to be filed within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred. The language regarding YouTube's right to remove content has been broadened, changing from a "reasonably believe" standard to a discretionary "in our discretion" standard. Additionally, the date for when payments are treated as royalties has been changed from June 1, 2021, to November 18, 2020.

The Privacy Policy was updated to add a new "U.S. state law requirements" section. This section provides specific disclosures required by various U.S. state privacy laws, including the CCPA, VCDPA, and others. It states that Google does not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA, and it describes the categories of information collected, the business purposes for use, and the parties with whom information may be disclosed. The update also introduces new rights for users in those states, such as the right to access, correct, and delete information, and the right to opt out of certain profiling and targeted advertising.

The terms now explicitly authorize Google to process recurring electronic cash payments (e.g., debit card) and to withdraw funds as soon as the transaction date. If a payment fails, Google may collect from any saved payment method, and you agree not to dispute recurring charges that match the terms. You must update a new payment method at least one day before billing to avoid disruption. The "Communications" section is expanded: you now consent to receive "Required Communications" (e.g., legal notices) in electronic form, which are deemed received when sent to your email or posted on YouTube. Withdrawing consent to electronic communications may result in termination of your service, but does not affect the validity of prior obligations. New detailed sections for YouTube TV, Primetime Channels, and NFL Sunday Ticket are added. These include restrictions on account sharing (household only, with device and stream limits), prohibitions on modifying or circumventing content protections, and rules that recordings may be stored for up to nine months and cannot be transferred. NFL Sunday Ticket subscriptions are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled once charged for a season, with mandatory binding individual arbitration and a class action waiver for disputes.

The updated Terms of Service now specify that exceptions to content restrictions can be made for material that serves the public's interest, in addition to educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic contexts. This change may broaden the scope of acceptable content on the platform, potentially impacting both users and advertisers.

Salesforce

The product description now states that Salesforce Mobile App Plus includes two key capabilities (enhanced mobile security and branding/app management) instead of three, removing offline access as a featured component. The FAQ section has been updated to reflect this change, deleting all questions and answers about mobile offline access, including how it works, its low-code status, included features, and comparisons to the standard mobile app's offline capabilities. The FAQ also removes the description of offline as a new feature and the associated pro-code requirements for building Lightning Web Components.
